Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ev Abbott Coaching ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects any information you provide when visiting evabbottcoaching.com or contacting us. We're committed to being transparent about how your data is handled and to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
The data controller for this website is Ev Abbott, trading as Ev Abbott Coaching, based in London, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can contact us at evabbottcoaching@gmail.com.
2. What information we collect
We only collect personal data that you actively provide when getting in touch:
- Email correspondence — when you email us using the "Book a Conversation" button or any other mailto link on the site, your email address, name (if provided), and the contents of your message are received by our email provider.
- Anonymous analytics data — we may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand how the website is used. This data does not identify individual visitors and does not use cookies. It includes information like the pages visited, approximate location at country level, browser type, and referring website.
We do not collect, store, or process any other personal data through this website.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry and have an initial conversation about coaching.
- To follow up if you have asked us to.
- To understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, our legal basis for processing your data is:
- Consent — when you choose to email us, you are giving us your consent to use that information to respond to you.
- Legitimate interests — to understand site usage in aggregate so we can improve our service. This is balanced against your right to privacy, and we use tools that are designed to minimise data collection.
5. How long we keep your data
Email correspondence is retained only for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and provide any agreed coaching services. After that, we periodically review and delete old messages.
Analytics data is held in aggregate by our analytics provider and is not linked to you personally.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Email provider (currently Google Workspace / Gmail) — to send and receive email.
- Website host (Cloudflare Pages or equivalent) — to serve the website.
- Analytics provider (if used) — for the privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics described above.
Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies and applies appropriate safeguards to comply with UK GDPR.
7. Cookies
This website does not set any cookies. We chose a privacy-friendly analytics setup specifically to avoid cookies and the consent banner that would otherwise be required. If this ever changes, we'll update this policy and add a cookie consent banner.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have a number of rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request that we delete your personal data ("right to erasure").
- Object to or restrict our use of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at evabbottcoaching@gmail.com.
9. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal data you share with us, including using reputable email and hosting providers and limiting access to your information to those who need it to respond to your enquiry. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Some of the service providers we use (for example, our email and hosting providers) may store data outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place to ensure your data is protected to a standard equivalent to UK GDPR.
11. Children
This website and the coaching services it describes are intended for adult professionals working in school leadership. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
13. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy, how we handle your data, or wish to exercise any of your rights, please contact us:
