Code of Professional Conduct
My coaching practice is guided by the British School of Coaching Code of Professional Conduct. It sets the standards I hold myself to in every piece of work, so you can be confident about how I conduct myself with you and with the wider profession. In our coaching relationship, I commit to:
- Treat all with absolute respect and dignity.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity in my coaching activities.
- Maintain confidentiality during and on completion of the work, except as expressly permitted by the client in writing, as required by law, or where there is a risk of harm to self or others.
- Refrain from offering professional advice or information that I know to be confidential, misleading, or where the accuracy is beyond my competence to assess.
- Signpost appropriate resources to meet the needs of clients.
- Work to enhance understanding and potential of professional coaching and mentoring.
- Share knowledge and experience with colleagues.
- Ensure regular and appropriate professional development and supervision is undertaken.
- Recognise that I am responsible for my own professional reputation, as well as that of the coaching and mentoring profession.
- Seek to avoid, and signpost, any areas of conflict of interest, or perceived conflict of interest.
